Ive started my easter holidays which will be a well deserved break. I havent posted a blog for a while because of coursework deadlines and exams. I've handed all of my coursework in early, so i got to start my holiday a few days early as well, and i've got one of my exam results back, which i have passed!
Yesterday i had a great day with my girlfriend as it was her birthday. Played a few games of snooker and had a really good meal and a great night.
Over this holiday, apart from coursework, i will be working alot on OGE. My TODO list keeps getting bigger, but it's going well. I'm currently planning/(re)designing a new way of configuring OGE, that will be cleaner, easier to maintain, and work alot better with the new plugin approach we are taking. My current idea is to use general Config/Options to hold the raw data loaded from files, and have higher level classes take a Config and parse it, to fill their own data structures. They can then provide their own functions to retrieve the actual values. For example, having a GraphicsSettings class, which takes a Config, takes the options and turns them into usable binary values. For Resolution, they can both be stored as integers. Accessing these values are through functions getResolution().
This will be much faster as you arent constantly interacting with Config, you dont have to use the correct key/name values, or check that it exists, and its cleaner.
We've applied for the Google Summer of Code too. We will see on the 17th of March if we have been accepted.
